UCA Student Membership - Your Professional Pathway Starts Here
UCA provides a complimentary 1-Year Student Membership to participants on UCA Accredited coach training programmes, giving students early access to professional support, resources and the wider coaching community.
If your training provider is not yet UCA Accredited, please encourage them to contact membership@universalcoachingalliance.org to find out how they can become part of the UCA network.
Professional Identity from Day One
Students are entitled to use UCA post-nominals after their name, allowing them to formally signal recognised membership status, credibility and professional affiliation as they begin their coaching journey. See UCA Post-Nominals Member Guide for more information.

The criteria is dependent upon a suitable character reference and a signed declaration.

- Practising Coaches – whether independent or as part of an organisation.
- Practising Supervisors
The criteria is a:
- Coaching qualification from a reputable coaching organisation.
- Suitable professional reference relating to your coaching.
- Signed declaration that as a Professional Member of the Universal Coaching Alliance, I claim the following:
By meeting these requirements, I am entitled to use UCA post-nominals after my name, formally displaying my professional status, accredited expertise and recognised professional standing, See UCA Post-Nominals Member Guide for more information. I agree to:
1. Abide by the UCA Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
2. Agree to undertake at least 20 hours of Continuing Coach Development (CCD) or the requisite level of CCD for my level of UCA Accreditation, which is included as part of my membership fee.
3. To have a minimum of 4 sessions of regular contracted and consistent supervision during each membership year, with a suitably qualified/experienced supervisor. This can include 1:1 or group supervision taken up externally, as part of a training programme or the UCA Supervision Service offering. Evidence will need to be provided at renewal.

Organisational Members are required to submit the following criteria:
By meeting these requirements, our Organisation is entitled to use UCA post-nominals after our name, formally displaying our professional status, accredited expertise and recognised professional standing, See UCA Post-Nominals Member Guide for more information. We agree to:
1. Signed declaration that as an Organisational Member of the Universal Coaching Alliance, on behalf of your organisation you adhere to the UCA Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics (upon application and at each renewal period).
2. 20 hours of Continuing Coach Development (CCD) at each renewal period – (if Primary Contact is delivering coaching).
3. 4 sessions of regular, contracted and consistent supervision – (if Primary Contact is delivering coaching) at each renewal period.

- Professional governance
- Continuous development culture
- Client safeguarding
- Professional supervision frameworks
- Accreditation of Coach Training Programmes (where applicable)
- Accreditation support for Trainers of Accredited Programmes
- Complimentary 1-year Student Membership for participants of UCA Accredited Programmes
- Opportunities to showcase programmes, services and organisational offereings
- Access to subsidised Group Supervision with UCA Accredited Coach Supervisors
- Opportunities for students and trainees to gain coaching experience
- Students can gain access to subsidised Group Coach Supervision
Fellow Member level is available for senior professionals who:
Are current Professional Members (PMUCA) in good standing
Have a minimum of 10 years’ coaching practice (or equivalent contribution in coaching, mentoring, or supervision)
Have demonstrated significant leadership, contribution, and impact within the coaching profession
Have made meaningful contributions to the wider professional community
You’ll gain the highest level of professional recognition within the Universal Coaching Alliance, including the right to use the prestigious FMUCA post-nominals, alongside opportunities to influence professional standards, contribute to thought leadership, and help shape the future of coaching through UCA’s professional community.
The criteria is dependent upon:
Verified professional standing as a UCA Professional Member (PMUCA)
Evidence of long-term professional practice and contribution
Demonstrated impact in at least three areas, including leadership, mentorship/supervision, education and training, research and publications, community contribution, or innovation
Two senior professional references
Submission of a professional portfolio
Successful assessment through the UCA Fellowship review process
There are two Fellowship membership types:
Annually renewable Fellowship
Lifetime (Emeritus) Fellowship – £1,875
A non-refundable Fellowship application fee of £250 applies.
If you meet the criteria for Fellowship, you can apply directly. You can also nominate a senior professional for consideration.
